The dignity of black speaks softly.
Himeji's black grained leather is a fusion of "tanning" and "lacquering," techniques that have been passed down since the Edo period. This rare leather, of which only a few dozen sheets can be produced per month, is made from a single hide of domestic Japanese black cattle. Light resides in each individual grain of the countless wrinkles on the surface, creating a luster and depth as if diamonds were scattered across it. Artisans manually balance the tanning of the raw hide with multiple layers of lacquer, cultivating a deep, clear black while preserving the beauty of the grain.
Large enough to vertically store a long wallet, the interior can be used efficiently even with an accessory pouch. The back zipper allows quick access to items like handkerchiefs or tissues. The strap is adjustable from 67 to 127cm, and can be removed for use as a clutch, making it suitable for everything from daily use to formal occasions.
It doesn't make a flashy statement. There's no need to fuss over its care. It won't stand out with a cheap shine. The lacquer coating protects the leather, so you can carry it without worrying about rain or friction, truly relaxing your shoulders.
"Where is that bag from?" people will ask. It's a unique black. The more you use it, the deeper its luster becomes, and your own time is engraved upon it. Bring quiet dignity and true satisfaction to your everyday life.
