No two blues are alike.
This is a T-shirt that you "cannot buy".
This is a store-exclusive color, the standard "7oz T-shirt" dyed with indigo in Kojima, Okayama.
It is not available online.
This is a piece you can only find at our store in Minami Aoyama, Tokyo.
◆Indigo deepens in Kojima.
Kojima, Okayama Prefecture, the holy land of denim.
This piece was born from the handiwork of a dyeing workshop that has continuously worked with indigo in that region.
It's a special indigo-dyed T-shirt that can only be found in stores.
Natural indigo does not set its color in a single dip.
The craftsmen repeat the process of dyeing, exposing it to air, and dyeing again many times.
This creates a deep, unique blue with depth.
The slight differences in expression for each piece are also a unique characteristic of hand-dyeing.
◆The fabric is the famous "7oz".
The base is the standard "7oz T-shirt", which can be worn for the longest period of the year.
Blended cotton of Australian and Indian cotton is spun into 30-count double yarn by the long-established Taisho Spinning Company,
then delicately knitted by Takagi Meriyasu in Osaka, and finished with the abundant water of the water city by Fushimi Orimono Kako in Kyoto.
The versatile 7oz fabric is resistant to losing its shape even after washing, and is just thin enough so that it is not see-through in both white and black.
This store-exclusive model is the finished product, further submerged in indigo in Kojima.
By combining 30-count yarns into double yarns, it achieves the strength of about 15-count. The surface is smooth with jersey knitting, and the back that touches the skin is fluffy. Using combed yarn made from only long fibers, it has a soft feel with less fuzz.
Material: 100% Cotton / Weight: 202g (L size) / Country of origin: Japan
◆Cultivating the blue.
The deep indigo, when new, will gradually fade as you wear and wash it,
and after several years, it will become a blue that is unique to your body.
This is a T-shirt that you should choose with the intention of "cultivating" it, rather than as a finished product.
